TO-92 Footprint

Hi

What do you use as TO-92 footprint? Three Pads in a row with 50 mil spacing look like a pain to solder...

I just offset the center pin.

It seems that most of the new stock transistors are machine insertable and have the pads lined up in a straight line.

I think you have to specify that you want "cut tape" to get those. Then you get a little more room to work with.

Another advantage to the "offset leg" is that it sits like a tripod, giving a sturdier mount.
To make soldering (and especially desoldering!) easier is to make the pads round and as large as possible (with in reason of course)> Also specify a generous drill size.
