- yes Peluso CEK12

- yes the OEP is wired in parallel
like everybody here told me to wire it.
any problem for you ?

the mic schematic is exactly the same than Jakob schematic
only the psu is modified (by Duka, thanks :thumb: )
and the numbers of the pins.
so if it's a problem i can delete the file, i don't want to confuse somebody ?

Jazzy_Pidjay

What posts told you to wire the transformer that way? I would have doe it different.

I would use OEP with serial wiring
Duka

the body is a simple copper pipe of 42mm width.

here is my post about the OEP :

oups duka told me serial, but i have been confused
by his second answer
Both windings in parallel means 6,25K:150ohm?

of Jakob, probably about the mic, and not for the schematic

what are the inconvenients & advantages of each wiring ?
do i modified my mic ?

hehe. nice, you know ttc? big dada/ninja tune?

Jazzy,

Wireing the microphone transformer windings in series will give you higher inductance, and thus better low-end response with the relatively high Zout of the EF86.

The possible problem in this could be reduced top end due to higher capacitance - which I do not think will be a problem in this case.

So I would try the windings-in-series to see if it worked better..

right, so i will change this
and tell you more about the improvements in this case !!

thanks :thumb:

PS : it's better to connect together F1-S2 or F1-F2 ??
it's egal ?

Connect S2 to F1 for both primary and seconday. Out+ is S1 Out - is F2.
2,2uF goes to S1 and ground are F2 and screen together.

hi everybody

i have modified the g7 trafo wiring...

here is my impressions :

- i have only test my G7 (OEP serial) with Peluso CEK-12 from vocal.
in a Focusrite ISA220 to a Layla24.
(When i see my friend i pick up is G7 "Cactus" and modified it, to tell you more about his capsule response. His mic is exactly the same as mine.)

so

- the sound with the OEP in serial is very different
clearly the bottom is more strong, and the proximity effect become
a good tool to play with. the medium is still the same, but the high-med
& high are really more soft, really sweet. :thumb:
in contrast with the first trafo wiring, the sibilance is non-existent :thumb: and the 5k zone is really less aggressive. the high-end seems to be a little less airy and more focused on the source. i will do more test in omni...

I am impatient to test the G7 cactus of my friend, I hope that the result will not be too soft, because the G7 with Cactus and OEP in parallel is already very soft

Which means that we may conclude that OEP in parallel mode is suitable for capsules with unpronounced top end, and the OEP serial mode suits capsules with pronounced top lift.

Good work, Jazzy!

If anyone else experiments with this, please let us know what you think..!

Note what is going on the RLC R(plate R and tube R) L (transformer inductance) C (coupling cap) are tuning the circuit

This is some more of the fun of microphones
