I need on teflon turret D87 build, anyone? It seems hard to get, been searching all over?
You don't absolutely need the turret. You can "float" the connection above the pcb. The idea is to isolate these connections to avoid problems because of the very high impedance.

If you use darker capsule and disable feedback you defeat the whole point of u87. Also you don't get the same curve in the end. Remember bright capsule + deemphasis network are meant to work as dolby NR, and reduce noise of the mic. U87, especially vintage one with lower pol.voltage, has pretty lousy noise specs. Remove deemphasis you make the mic almost unusable as a professional tool.

It actually makes more sense to use as bright as possible capsule, and use higher value filter cap.

I hate that the state of the art (vocal) mixing involves focussing sooo much on the high end. Even though I kinda hate that I did in the past track vocals with a U87Ai and added quite a bit of top end in the mixing process. This procedure defeats the purpose of the de-emphasis network and I've read that many actually disable it to give their U87 more "air" (not something I would do, as I love a flat mic with a "flat sound").

Remove deemphasis = no professional tool? Don't think so... just sayin...

Not proffessional tool in sense of pure spec degradation. You can use what ever you want, but removing deemphasis degrades the technical performance of this specific mic. If you were to see pure spec sheet numbers of a u87 with removed deemphasis it would be closer to bm800 than a pro mic. And i'm talking about vintage low pol. voltage u87, not ai.
