Hi there,

After successfully building this particular mic, got it working ok, but the phase was wrong, so I swapped round the wires coming from the transformer to reverse it, but now when trying to re calibrate it (with the capsule disconnected, the voltage from the drain of the transistor ranges from 8V low and only 11.35V high. On an oscilloscope with a 1Khz sine wave put through it, the reading on the scope is just static.

The transistor caused me problems when I first built it and had to be swapped out to make the mic work properly, does this indicate that it is blown again? and if so, what is causing this to happen? any idea?

Hi Rob,
I saw this issue on another person's 87.  His ground lead from the isolation pin to the other PCB wasn't connected. Have a look could be that....
