Hello everyone,
I am selling a pair of near completed D-87 builds. The capsules I had for these are being used for another project. This is Dany's D-87 tapered boards in MXL 2003a bodies, which took some modding to get everything to fit in a relatively much smaller body. I am also using his switch board which has HPF, pad, and pattern selection. The switches stick out further than they do on the stock board and I had to create slightly larger openings on the tube to get everything back together.
These builds just need capsules. I did not test these with capsules but I was able to bias the circuit to the prescribed 11.5V on the build guide.
I will also send the original switch boards that came with the microphone. With Dany's switch board, one of the mounting points is inaccessible for attaching the switching PCB which is the same screw that holds the head basket. Currently I am using one of the screws for just head basket and the other for both the switch board and the head basket (one screw does both on the MXL 2003a). I then used hot glue with the other spacer to secure the board in place, which works very well. I will take this off before shipping as the switching PCB will need to be removed to install the capsule.
Tab-funkenwerk AMI T13 transformer is used along with tantalum and styroflex capacitors where applicable.
$250 each or $400 for the pair. Each includes the MXL factory shock mount.
