Hey folks,
Unfortunately, my beloved Unidyne III fell victim to a drummer and now has the common loss of low end that 57s get, when damaged. I'm pretty bummed about it, but you can't be surprised when a 57 on snare bites it.
Anyway, I'm thinking that the transformer is worth keeping, since I like the way the Unidynes sound, over my newer 57s. I'm guessing my best option is to simply get a new 57 cartridge and swap them out, but I see that the Unidyne capsule is still in production for the 545. From looking at the pictures, it seems like the 545 might not match the 57's housing, though. Anybody got experience with this?
