I want to build a power supply similar to the G Pultec but with the second transformer (the  12v -220v) being a  50hz transformer... & I am on 60hz, US mains.  My understanding is that this should be fine, dose anyone see any issues with this?

Thanks!

A 50Hz transformer will generally have more copper and more iron than the same power 60Hz rock. (60/50 more).

The obvious question is the primary voltage correct?

That should work fine...

You could even connect a second 110-12V transformer to the first with the secondaries connected in parallel like your picture but the primaries wired in series to form an auto-former where the second 110 primary gets added to the mains voltage across the first.

I once stacked up 4 low voltage transformers that way to make near 480V for some bench tests.

Thanks again John, I've used this kind of configuration before, but never had any 50hz transformers around....

I'll have to remember that auto former trick when I get back to playing with my tesla coil.  😎
