Hello,
Has anyone done a dissection of this small transamp?
I happen to have a Gatex with a noisy one that also won't respond to control voltage nul. I swapped out another adjacent one and it is definatly the VCA.
I can see into one of the epoxy walls of one enough just enough to make out a motorola transistor pair but thats it.
The schematic I have indicates that it is the Valley standard Trans Amp circuit but indicates the part # is a TA-101 not 104.
Odd little package.
I always liked these Gatex live since when set to fast attack there would be just a slight click that would help define the Kick and toms without needing to add hi end eq.
