Many moons ago I came across a reference to the so-called magical halo inductors in vintage Vox wah pedals
Story goes that the inductors (at least some of them) were Italian sourced and at some point before being put into the wah's, they were exposed to dc low voltage for an extended period of time, either during testing or during a previous life. The source said this DC would magnetize the laminations in all one direction, which affected the sound of the audio passing through the inductors.
Thoughts? Hocus Pocus or legit theory?
