Various "good reads" re the so-called VU meter. Includes a text version of the original 1930's article, articles from Jay McKnight (brilliant engineer at Ampex, founder of the MRL alignment tape company, now sadly RIP) and another from Victor Acuna.....all from my files.
I call Olde School mechanical meters "wiggle needles" and all the new electronic meters "woo-woo! lights" <g>
