Hi,

a friend of mine gave me some tubes he had laying around. they are all NOS in original boxes.

4 x GE 6135

3 x GE JAN 6X4WA

2 x Sovtek 6AU6

I was going to use the two 6AU6 in a pair of microphones that I'm building.

The 6X4WA is a dual diode rectifier so maybe I'll use that in the PSU for the mics.

The 6135 is a medium mu triode.

I am a total noob when it comes to tubes but would the 6135 be a good tube for a mic or preamp?

thanks

James

James, I did not mean to make fun of those tubes, but I had come across that pic minutes before your post, so it was very tempting.

Those GE's look like pretty darn good tubes. 5 star means good QC and long life. 6AU6 is no slouch either, so try em out. They should sound grrrrrrrreat.

CJ,

I'm just now getting to see my post. My current session is kicking my ass! Love the pic btw!

Yeah, I think I will use the 6AU6s in my new mics. But I'm torn between using the 6135s in a mic pre or geetar amp. And thanks everybody for the replies.

cheers,

James
