Hi all,
I am wondering what's possibly the best choice for developing schematics and PCB's. I'm running Eagle right now, but sometimes it's to harsh for and there's no option for simulation. Except when exporting the schematic as a spice model. I've tried Multisim and Ultraboard, I liked that. But there's a lack of components, such as Lundahl/Jenssen transformers or Vactrols.

I'm intended to buy a piece of software, without being intended to pay the jackpot. Are there any opinions for making a choice?

Thanks in advance

Yeah, I used multisim and ultiboard in college.  if i knew of a good way to create my own components for simulation and footprints easily, then that software would be great!  it seems that there is no marriage between a good simulation program and a good pcb layout program.  especially for audio circuits.  I want to be proven wrong!

with just about any software, you're going to have to make your own footprints for odd object (like lundahl trafos). I use Kicad, it's free and has some cool features, but very easy to use.

what abou eagle?

I started using it a while ago and it looks pretty cool especially for simulation.
There're plenty of components as well. However the PCB design is a bit confusing to me because some components
should be placed manually.

sorry I meant 'Proteus' !!! thus, that'll be....
