Slip Inside This House - 13th Floor Elevators.  Maybe I'll stop hearing it if I ever come down.  Will I ever come down?

The Animals- "It's my Life"

Thought I'd record an accurate cover with Rick 12 string, etc. Just for fun and to evaluate my new mic pre design. This is the first recording to be done with it.

Simple song...Trying to hear the piano part.

Also trying to get epiphone rivoli pick bass sound...I have a '65 gibson EB-0 that used the same pickup /tronics (mostly) but it's not hollow body like the Rivoli...

Thrasher by Neil Young from Rust Never Sleeps:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t00MXZKbW0M

Also, just spotted this odd video of him playing an instrumental plus The Loner and Cinnamon Girl:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4IEIS4oMq0&feature=related

Great NY medley, Rod.  Never saw that one.  I love the double drop D stuff he does.  Have you heard the medley that adds Down By the River to those two--all in double drop D?  Cinnamon Girl is my fave NY tune.  Acoustic or raw raging electric, it doesn't matter--it always works.

No, actually. I've just got about ten or so of his albums. My favourite is probably On The Beach, although I like to go back and listen to stuff off of Harvest sometimes for something easier. Sugar Mountain is an awesome song, but I only have it as part of a compilation.

It's on the extended CD version of the live album 4 Way Street with CS&N.  I can't remember where I heard it because I don't own that CD.  Yet.  Amazon, here I come.

this guy was a first round draft pick and record setter for a NFL team, a NCAA college basketball starr,
then he decides that writing songs is a lot less work, so he writes a grammy and a couple of other hits, this  made #17,

Very cool, does anyone know what tuning he using there?

An open D tuning perhaps? Sounds very CSN.

Double dropped D.  Start in standard tuning.  Now tune both high and low E down to D.  If you've ever tried to play Cinnamon Girl in standard tuning and failed, this is why.  It is the only way to get the Neil mojo, much like 5 strings and open G are required for many Stones tunes to sound right.

Cool, thanks for the info.

I'll have to tune the Martin up and have a run.

BTW, the guitar chords are a real bitch in this song,
