that choke wants to go where R104 is,

but you have bigger problems,

rip out the pc board and wire in a point to point Marshall circuit,

after you rob a bank, get some 5751 preamp tubes and some JJ EL34's,

iron ain't bad so keep the pwr trans and OPT,

turret boards are available here>

JTM 45 is cheaper and a good amp,

so is the plexi, but they all sound the same through a celestion 4 x 4,

worst problem is getting people to pay to listen or buy your homemade CD,

music biz is weird right now, everybody just wants so sing Karaoke, :D

i can't even play for free anymore,

ASCAP detectives are shutting down all the open mic nights, wtf, over?  :-X

A good incentive to write your own songs. I'm fed up with the 12 193 rd version of Proud Mary or Honky Tonk women.
A few suggestions for the titles:
(I can't get no) Sanitation
Sweet home at Obama's
Sweet home, chicano
Coffeine
:eek:  8) ::)
:-X

Replacing that 3K9 resistor with the choke (125 Ohm)? Or how do you mean?

Compared to the other suggestions, i.e. replacing R86, what is the advantage of your suggestion?

Not R104. R104 is AFTER the screens ans goes to the low-level tubes.
Replacing R86 with the choke cleans the screen voltage too. Remember that the screens are grids, so they are inputs to the tube. Making the inputs clean is a good way of making the whole amp clean.
In a push-pull stage, cleaning the B+ is not necessary because it is cancelled in the output transformer; noise injected in the screens translates as noise in both tubes, though. This noise is cancelled by the output transformer. However cancellation is not perfect so there's a residual. In addition it modulates the anode current, which is seen as common-mode noise. Cleaning the screen voltage is recommended.

yes, clean the screens, sorry, that schemo is a bit jumbled,  ???

i like the old easy to read Fender schematics,

OPT acts as choke for plate supply,

there is an oddball that uses the choke in front of the OPT,

Fender 5E7  chassis which is a Bandmaster,

Alright then it all adds up :) I just got a note from Mercury Magnets where they recommend replacing R86 too.
I'll try it out tomorrow. Thanks for your help so far.
