Hey folks,

I'm in the U.S. There is Mouser of course, but I'm looking at buying over 100 of these expensive chips.

Is Futurlec about the only place that's generally cheaper? I see lots of reviews about stuff taking a long time to get here, which I don't mind. My main concern is the possibility of getting knock off parts. But who knows, maybe you're just as likely to get knockoffs buying from Mouser if they're sourcing from the same place as Futurlec?  Just speculating here. I've only very briefly heard of knock off IC opamps even existing.

Actually, to answer my own questions, there are vendors on ebay (in China) that are even cheaper that Futurlec, but I'm even more wary of buying there.

Anywhere else that I'm not aware of besides Mouser/Digikey/Futurlec?

100 is still not really a lot.... you could try electronic component distribution but I'm not sure they would entertain a one shot order.  Of course it doesn't hurt to try.

Go to the manufacturers' website and see who they list as their distributors.

be weary of buying opamps from china. Opamps are way too easy to knockoff with a cheaper variety as they are all pin to pin.

Stick to Mouser or Digikey for less than 1Ku.
You might be able to contact Arrow or Avnet and ask for a quote. They may turn their noses up too.
Don't forget that TI now sells direct too, but I'm unsure if the pricing will work well for you.

Cheers

I have used futerlec before but only for PCB's. They were the best pricing for what we needed at the time  but, took forever because it's over seas.  Would I use them again, probably...

I've received counterfeit JFETs from futurlec.  I would purchase from an authorized distributor were I in your shoes.

The mainline authorized distributors will have prices generally within a few cents of each other.

I would be very wary if a non-standard distributor was advertising the parts a dollar cheaper in a given quantity.
