Does anyone have a Windows XP install disk they could give or sell me? Or a copy with the password decrypted.

I need a pukka XP machine to run the software I wrote myself in da last Millenium. Yes. I've tried the various Virtual machines but none of them give me the functionality I need. To put this into perspective, I run a DOS window under Win 98 on the XP machine.

Machines that have XP drivers are all more than 10 yrs old. I found one but I lent my pukka XP install disc to a friend who promptly lost it :(

This seems to be a fairly complicated procedure for running DOS software (if that’s the goal). Wouldn’t it be easier to just install DOS directly (either genuine or some emulator)—or at least Windows 98?

but what is "pukka" ?

Pukka is a slang term taken from Hindi पक्का (pakkā, “certain, sure”), Punjabi ਪੱਕਾ (pakkā, “mature, ripe; cooked; strong, substantial; genuine, sound, true, valid”) and Urdu پکا (pakkā, “mature, ripe; cooked; strong, substantial; genuine, sound, true, valid”), from Sanskrit पक्व (pakva, “baked, cooked, roasted”), from पचति (pacati, “to bake, cook, roast”).

Among English users (not those speaking 'murican) "pukka" came to signify "first class" or "absolutely genuine".

A good use of Pukka may be found in Song # 187 of the Hash House Harriers: "WHEN LADY JANE BECAME A TART"

No help on Win XP though. A Ripe, Cooked, Baked, Roasted XP Computer?

Why not just run a DOS VM?

DOSBox perhaps?

Install FreeDOS on it?

Honestly, I'd probably prefer a few root canals without Novocain or just rewriting the software. It probably can be done trivially in Excel or Google-Doc's spreadsheet if it mainly numerical analysis.

Now for a Pukka Tune, innit?
