For me, France would have won that game anyway. By far the strongest team in the tournament. Croatia was fortunate to score 2, second goal a complete blunder by Lloris. No-one mentions this, even though it more than made up for the penalty. Conceding 2 goals in 6-minutes from open play is what sunk Croatia...
Good team though – if Yugoslavia was still together, they would probably have won a Euro or WC by now (or both).
