Would you buy from Romania?

Long story short, i'm a couple of Wima caps short of having a 1176 up and running.  I can't source any in my city immediately, and the best price I can find within Australia is $20 (only sold in lots of 10 + postage + two week wait), and Mouser is a base $39 postage for tid bits... so i'm looking around for options.


There's a guy selling Wima caps on Ebay from Romania - I can buy both caps for $5 to my door.  He has a 99.4% reputation over 1500 sales.  Should I take a chance with this guy or avoid him at all costs?



PS - not meaning to insult or offend by the title, but I live in an opposite corner of the world and have ZERO experience buying from eastern european vendors.

I buy usually from eastern european sellers on Ebay and I never had problems (but I live not so far from them), but if you make the payment with Paypal you can obtain the refund if you don't receive the items

There is no difference between Australian or Romanian scam. If the guy is 99.4% correct than you have no problem.

Aham, unfortunately prejudice still exists for this part of the world . But I understand because I was really afraid of strange Australian insects and strange animals Until I met them personally  8)

Prejudice?  Strong words.  I think it's more naivety on my behalf.  Prejudice implies I have a mistrust or pre-formed negative assumptions about the place - that's simply not the case.  Romania is a complete unknown to me, and an unexpected place to find hi-fi components of choice, therein lies my only caution.

As to why I want Wima caps?  Why not?  I can't find ANY caps in the value i'm chasing in my town, so I may as well order what I know to be a good product.  If I can find them in Romania - so be it.

Yes, that's why I mentioned it. My point was that 1500 buyers can't be wrong.
