XLR connection

Hi to everybody,
when soldering connectors for microphones I normally leave out a bridge from pin 1 to ground - as shown in the attached photos. How do you handle it?

that's a chassis connection, ignore it - chassis is a question to be decided inside the unit connected, not in the cable (google pin-1 problem)

Is that socket for a microphone or for an interconnecting mic cable (to connect the mic to preamp)?

Its the connection from the microphone to the preamp

If the mic is well built, its body should be strongly connected to its pin 1. So a link between the ground tag and pin 1 of the cable should be redundant.
However many mics have a dubious connection there, but the solution should be in the mic, not in the cable.

That's correct. I never make this electrical connection between pin 1 and the body of the xlr connector in the case of microphones cables
