XLR panel spacing

Say I had a row of 8 XLR panel-mount connectors that I wanted to design a chassis for.  Is there a standard minimum spacing between connectors?  Perhaps an AES/EBU standard?  I can't find any info on the web.

There is no standard. Neutrik are very proud of the fact their receptacles can be mounted with only 23 mm spacing. Use common sense: if you need to move them a lot, put enough space between them to put at least one finger

Middle Atlantic sells a 1RU panel with 16 xlr knockouts on it.  That's the max.  I have several of these in use.

That's what I figured, but somebody was telling me that there was a standard for the spacing, and I didn't think there was.  Thanks for the confirmation.
