Pair of Collins 356E I recently racked for a client.  These have all the factory options brought to the front panel - Mode switch, Threshold/Ration control, and posts for threshold voltage measurement.  In addition, the client requested high pass filtering for the side chain circuit and there is a three position selection for this as well as a compressor off position.  The release switch includes 5 positions that cover the factory settings plus additional positions that offer different attack and release times covering a much wider range.  There is also link switch for stereo operation.  T-Pads for input and output attenuation.

Cool!
I'm about to rack up the 356a preamps, but I've been waiting around to see if any of these compressors pop up for about 3 years I think and have never seen them. It seems like the program amps are for sale all the time though. Did you try them on any material? If so, what are your impressions?

I spent about a week listening to them on program material and in tracking and playback/mixdown applications and thought they sounded excellent.  Very tight crisp, snappy sound .  The client loved them.  They also don't seem to be suffering too much penalty for not having the extra make up stage that the StaLevel uses.  They didn't mush out at 20db GR
