There's always the possibility that they know it but don't think of it as a deffect but as "personality" of the singer. Here in Brazil I can think of many examples of very popular singers with this "problem". If it's something that the singer thinks is part of his "DNA", he can get upset if you "mess with it".

  I have just been working with a rapper with a lisp . . . He has had some speech therapy, and all is well with the world.


  Previously, I recorded myself doing a bunch of Ssses, and laid them on a separate track, which was fed to the sidechain of a compressor on the vocal track to duck out the Thhes, and replace with SSses

  Kinda works, but I recommend the therapy.
