I had the fortune of taking a class with 'Mr. Shouty', he was a genius in many ways--and sort of a nut too. we were forced to listen to his old 1/4" recordings at painfully high levels, but they did sound really good considering how loud they were being played. He had some really strong opinions and was difficult to engage in discussion with in those latter years.
Got his students into DIY!, introduced me to Jensen application sheets and OPAMP Labs... many folks built a DI in his class.
