good price on small parts ziploc bags

I go to a place called Cash and Carry and get them. I think there in Washington,Oregon, Idaho, California, Nevada. One of the local ones sells the bags by the case only, and the other sells them individually. I believe there prices is slightly lower than your listed place, but it's not worth buying a case of 10,000 2" bags unless your selling stuff.

i've been getting some from dollar stores but they aren't very good

Before I found the Cash and Carry I was going to Craft stores.

There fairly reasonable there, but not as inexpensive as what was posted.

I found this parts storage instructable which got me interested in some small ziplocs, to store a bunch of odd value resistors in a binder. Seems like alternative compared to the hardware drawers I'm using now.

Combined with some of these binder sheets, I can save quite a bit of precious studio space.

Those are VERY expensive.

I guess I should've shopped around before believing their "the best deal around!" pitch.
A little google searching shows me half the price on the 2x3 bags. But too late, I already ordered from the other place. And that's fine; I don't need 1000 bags.

Mind sharing the $4.39 place?

I find that using zip-loc bags for storing parts is a PITA - they stop
"zipping" quickly and get holes in them from the leads too .... then your
parts spill out everywhere !!

For shipping / selling ... fine.

Thanks Marty, that's something to consider. Come to think of it, I've had the 'leads poking though' problem before. Perhaps if I'm going to do this right I should jump up to the 6 mil thickness bags, rather than the standard 2 mil. I don't know if this would help with the stops zipping problem.

Hey guys I use these little manila envelopes. They are called coin envelopes, or jeweler's envelopes. You can write part numbers or component values on them. You can seal them if you want to, or just tuck the flap under if you want to. Leads don't poke through too easily either.
