Cool! What will you use for I/O transformers and the inductor on the sidechain?
There is those vintage Sifam that look nice And will fit 500 faceplate, you've seen this i'm sure, anyway could be a nice one for this, but don't know the price range tough.

I'll happily stock the meter (in addition to the iron) but I would like to place my vote for LED.
I'm not sure how useful/accurate those tiny meters are. I suppose your prototype will give us the answer!
