I have a SSL Duality and absolutely love the workflow and the sonics of the console but have recently been really been missing the feel and sound of an old 4000 or a 6000. I am considering buying an older console with all black eq's recapping/cleaning/ and the usual mods to the center section.
I remember reading over on GS about a guy who had somebody custom build him a switched digital power supply for his console which was much more efficient and also cut down costs on AC because of it... Wondering if its that drastic a change and if anyone on here might know something like this and where to start looking?
