Stereo Blender? Is this a valid method?

Hello:
I am looking to make a circuit to blend two stereo signals into one stereo output.
Originally I had wanted to do this as a strictly passive endeavor.  But I realized that I would need to utilize a quad-gang potentiometer and would probably see some signal loss due to impedance issues.
My idea now is to use two TL072 to buffer both sets of L/R signals coming in so that they are both at unity gain.
Then blend those signals with a dual gang potentiometer set as a variable resistor.
And then have the wipers of the potentiometer output through a third TL072 buffering the output.

Will this work?  If so is it an ill advised method?

Thanks
James

Are you wanting to use something like a Pan knob inbetween both sources? fuie fully left is stereo input 1, fully right is stereo input 2?
should work

abechap:

That is exactly what i would like to do
Fully left = 100% Input 1 L/R
Center = 50/50 Blend of the to Inputs L/R
Fully Right = 100% Input 2 L/R

Do I need to do anything more than simply buffer the signals at unity gain?  Also, how would I determine the best value for the potentiometer?

Thanks!
