The Herzog version I have has different transformers as is shown in this thread:

That was the only schematic I could find showing those transformers.

It does have a speaker output shown on the schematic. Mine had been "revised" by someone that didn't know what they were doing. I rebuilt it without the speaker out option.

For them, putting a speaker on a Champ would be like a 10,000-acre wheat-farmer putting a plow-harness on his Corgi.

Yes, any normal at-home player would have use for a Corgi and a combo-Champ/Herzog. A half-buck switch-jack does the job.
