I like the idea, that you could decide what pattern of the microphone you will use at the mix stage ... Ok not nuclear physics, but this was my view on L***t dual output microphone:

I bought two of them, to make SELA T12 copy, so I got two amp pcbs... As one side was blank I replace it with another populated PCB, put double sided capsule in it and connect everything to 7pin insert. I did solder two cables from 7 pin XLR female and then I use great VST software Po****er from good people of L****t and voila it really works !!! And  I heard great sonic improvements when I install additional LED diode in the headbasket connected to other (new one) amp PCB (default one is blue and it lit when Phantom is on), the red one really make wonders on every sound source  ;)

Did you censor the brand names manually? ;D

But yeah, when i heard about this mic, i figured it couldn't be any "space-age" uber-revolutionary stuff...

No reason for obscuring company names here - and it makes reading/understanding too hard...

Well I did it for the reason, their software is free to download and if someone would go my route, one could get it without problems, but when name appear  Google and similar search engines, they could change their minds about free downloading for really great software. But anyway, here it is: https://www.lewitt-audio.com/products/microphones/lct-recording/lct-640-ts
Software is Polarizer:

Now everything is clear ...

I found the idea first on Josephson Microphones site, I think that one of their products, is dual capsule or double side output microphone and I was always curious how useful is in the real life and I must admit, that this is not invention of the century, but I found good use for it, especially I like it on amps.

I think the free software is meant as a marketing aid for the mic. Lewitt couldn´t be happier if it improves their search engine results ;)
AFAIK they generally don´t make anything that hasn´t been there before but they do a nice job in promoting it as something revolutionary new. Pretty unique corporate design too.
What´s actually new is that it´s a dual output mic that has a standard 3-pin XLR and can be operated as standard multipattern mic too. That´s a neat and useful idea.
I have only tried some of their LDC mics. Given that it´s all chinese made stuff the sound quality is very good (IMHO). They really seem to know what they are doing.
Respectable entrepreneurship!

Thanks for pointing the Lewitt plugin out.  I'm using it with an MKH800 Twin and I just modified a TLM67 for dual output:
