They are shipping from NY at 169 a piece.  6 micron.  Anyone ever try these?

I bought one of these last month and it turned out to be the best K87 capsule that I have (still waiting for the Heiserman HK87, was est. 8-weeks lead time).  It looks and sounds very much like the 3U Audio K87.  I have several MP RK87 and various cheaper eBay K87 capsules, but I think it was worth it.  He will negotiate on price, too.

It does look remarkably similar to a 3u K87.

Ah yes, the focus of marketing does cast doubt. I personally won’t consider trying unless some people we trust feel the urge to take the plunge for some reason and report back.

found this today
https://dachmanaudio.com/product-category/microphone-parts/diy-microphone-kits/

https://dachmanaudio.com/shop/da-87i-diy-microphone-kit-for-u87/

It has the Neumann schematic fragment (copyright issue?) not a redraw

I don't see the CC semiconductor in the schematic in the parts picture

So is it the 24VDC Zener or 33VDC Zener circuit?

It looks identical to the poctop pcb including the passive components used on the poctop BOM. I built a poctop d-u87 for a friend a few weeks ago and used their k87 which happened to be on sale for $60. It sounds perfect. Practically indistinguishable from the beezneez k87 in my own. Not sure what their deal is.

No serious microphone manufacturer would fasten a transformer with tiewraps...

A novice diyer should try a little harder too.

Does it have the same amount of HF boost as the original Neumann K87 capsule?
I once tried a K87 from Maiku, but it was quite disappointing.
I contacted them and the answer was that you need to change the HF feedback.
Well, in that case it is not a good replacement IMHO...

I don’t know... If painting by numbers, you’re right. But if doing that, might as buy the original when still easily and readily available.

What’s a good way to secure a transformer?

One of my mics has something like this with the transformer inside jus sitting in it.

I’m scared because it’s not wrapped in anything.  The transformer metal is touching bare to the shield inside.  Is that okay?

Just look at the way a decent microphone manufacturer does it!
(Securing a transformer with tie wraps is a very amateurish solution in my opinion!)

I know. This is why people try alternatives ways. Plus, it makes things more interesting and inspires more creativity.

If just looking for a true replacement, I’m not sure anything but the original is going to satisfy. Then it gets down to how original the product is within the same manufacturer. Then we’re at gearslutz level. Slippery slope.

I don't have any other microhones with a transformer in it.  All of the mic pics online have the shield already covering the transformer.

Couldn't you just help me out and tell me?

That's not the mounting style im talking about...I found plenty of those...but I want to know how one is supposed to mount the transformer using the metal shielding.  This is how mine is mounted.  Mine has a noise shield like this...but the transformer inside is bare metal, touching bare metal of the shield.  It's simple just sitting in there, and I can hear it move around when moving the mic.
