Hey, thanks for the interesting / informative discussion everyone. I mustn't have my notifications setup properly as I didn't notice this! I guess (for me), it all makes good sense... if it does have "12" in the name, chances are it's not trying to be... (not as a rule... just probability 
). I think for current builds I'll keep to known styles as I build my first few mics.
I like the idea of tailoring a mic to a random capsule... but it's probably not as important as "building my first mic that actually works" haha... have 90% in the mail now... see how I go!
