1073 Gain Switch Pics or Wiring Guide

Hi all,

Does anyone have a wiring diagram or close up pics of an Elma gain switch as used on the 1073? I am busy wiring some and want to make sure that I have done this as per the original, or close to it.

I have found a few pics online, but nothing really close up detailed enough to be definitive.

Here are the 2 1073 switches I have done.

It has been a massive pain the backside to do these. Although the Elmas are beautiful pieces of engineering, they take a hell of a lot of time to assemble. Pin 12 is hidden behind the connecting screw and very difficult to get to. Took about 10 hours to do both these switches.

Turns out the 2 "stoppers" to limit the switch to 22 positions are not supplied......

Using thick wire at the moment.

Haha, yes. After wiring a bunch of Elmas myself and nearly losing my sanity, I decided to make the EZ1290. Much nicer.

I think that I will draw up a PCB design for a 3 deck Grayhill with the resistors onboard (SMD maybe?) and sell it on Ebay. Get rich quick...

That was an option but my client wanted original parts down to last, so I bit the bullet.

Clients are weird like that.  I like the way neve did mic/line switching on one switch.  Doesn't have to be an elma, I used those blue chinese switches and they work fine.  Constant use for 2-3 years now.
