Does anyone have a complete BOM?? And any picutres floating around, Im curious to what this looks like.

What's up?

I gotta get this thing finished!!

Hey does anyone know where I can get some of that LIYCY 36x0,14 wiring for the 1081 here in the US? I've been searching but cannot find anything

Any help would be great !

-Chuck

Chuck, I've done some cursory looking as well, tried Ajax Jr here, and he didn't know. I think we'll have to contact like a major wire distributor or some industrial source. We should buy it in bulk and split it up between a few of us.

I think it must have a different name here in the US. Maybe we should contact the European sources and ask if they know what it's called in the US and if they have leads...

Doing some searching on the web and found 2 places that can order it from Germany.

http://www.hitechcontrols.com
http://www.lappusa.com

I am trying to get both to order just a few feet of the 36x0.14mm for me. I'll let you know if either comes through, they need to check with their European suppliers first.

Like original heat sinks if anyone is interested. Rather expensive I might add at $12 each for a quantity of 16 from Bisco Industries

$8 USD from Farnell (2161588) but out of stock.

Posted the same info in the recent semiconductor group buy but thought it would be good to post here also.

Man those pots are hard to find!!

Has anyone found anything or is everyone drilling and patching the larger ones then setting a screw....

I just want the simple solution of buying one.

-ChuckD

I would by a adapter and drill that and add set screws to hold everything together.

I would make it 3 peices the shaft, coupling and pot. It may be worthwhile to go with a heli cal coulpling and have them make all the cut's.

Did you get in on the group buy on the switches a few years ago?

Coupling

hole 1 = 0.1248" = 3.16992 millimeters
hole 2 = 0.2498" = 6.34492 millimeters

https://sdp-si.com/eStore/Direct.asp?GroupID=196

$9.20 each !!!

too expensive for 10 of them = $92

hi ChuckD,
you can also check mcmaster.com under shaft couplings (just a bit cheaper).
the ones with ANSI keyway are more expensive, but you just need the plain because pot shafts don't have the keyway (at least the ones I use).

grant

Do you have a part number of what you ordered here. I just looked and cannot see anything cheaper or even that would fit a ~3mm to ~6mm or .125 to .25 inch size

If you had a decent drill press that is a very simple Job.

A few drill bit's, a tap and some set screws and it's done.

I don't know how quick you want the stuff but I'm sure the round two group will come up with something. It really looks like your steaming away on this. Any luck on the cable?

Cable I ordered a couple sample pieces from the two above USA vendors just to see if they could get it. I heard back from one that it is ordered so We shall see. In the meantime I need to check through my main board and solve the pot issue.

Besides the coupling the ony other reasonable approach i have seen is someone threading the end of the 1/8 rod and then tapping out the center of a alpha pot. If you can do your machining correctly that would also work the same.

Do you have any information on the stock pot's, is that what your after?

This is something like I was thinking would work nicely for the coupling, but I'm sure there at least $10 would take the slack if it's not aligned right and not destroy the pot.

For my switches/pots I think I'm going to go with Elma and or Greyhills unit's with the hole through the middle and the plate to mount a pot to. Check on those couplings and use the millspec pot's that Digikey sells. I have ran into nothing but dead ends on the "Original style stuff". After that I'll try to get a small batch of Aluminum original style Knob's made up from a few local friends even then there going to be $$.

Anyone else have anything on the pot's, switches and knobs?

The 10K pots can be ordered directly from AMS-Neve however they end up being pricey at about 20 USD each. which for a single channel is 80 bucks.

From the UK they are cheaper about 15 USD each direct from the factory. But still that seems high.

The coupler idea is quite a bit cheaper actually. I am going to look into this more.

Chuck do you remember what you paid for the switches in the group buy?

I'm wondering if they ask you a million questions if you call up looking for 4 sets of switches for the 1081?
