Hi,
I want to use the 1646 as an output buffer in a situation that may potentially be unbalanced at some point, So I'd like to retain the functionality of an unbalanced connection. I'm planning on using a 1/4" TRS jack so a TRS connector hooks up as usual and a TS unbalanced shorts the ring to ground. I know that this is the correct way to use the 1646 chip in an unbalanced configuration (as per the DRV135 Datasheet), but will shorting the unused pin to ground at the chassis jack rather than on the board cause any undue noise?
Thanks for any assistance.
