2520 pin lenght

Is there a problem with an API 2520 that won't allow it to fit a 2500 compressor due to pin length? All the op amps I have or saw have about 1/4 inch length. I sold 2 2520's and the new owner said they won't work on his 2500 cause the pins are too short. He said their are components under to doa.

  Is there a such thing as a pin extender?

Something like this?  Go to the Mill-Max web site and search for part number 8993-0-15-01-34-27-04-0.  If that's not it, I'm sure they have something.

Thanks Horvitz. I feel really bad he can't use them. Maybe he can get those pins or send them back. I offered a full refund including shipping.
Never had a problem like that before.

the 225L is the same way, the pins are about 3/4 inch long so it hovers over the components underneath it. I don't necessarily have a solution for you, but watch out for that as well.

I've put these (or a variation of part#) into a 554 module, the 2520 fitted in these sockets which were soldered into the original drill holes. {the smaller diameter end of the socket is the same diameter as the 2520 pins, allowing a perfect fit of the socket and OpAmp and enough clearance for any componentry that lies beneath.}

"Real" 2520s from API have pins that protrude 1/2" from the bottom of the op amp. They cut them shorter to install in some cards (300 series), others need the complete length. If you are selling an op amp as a direct replacement for a 2520 it needs to have 1/2" long pins to be able to work in the various applications.
Maybe there is a socket with a pin on the other end that can be used to extend a short pin?
