Hello

First question
I really like the passive EQ NYD ::)
My desire and add an extra band
and put HPF LPF
Yes we can?

Second question

which FET preamp without transformer
Which works best for the NYD?
The FETREED of ForthMonkey
Or the Hamptone JFP?

Cheers

The NYD EQ design is highly optimised. Adding a HPF and/or a LPF is likely to be rather difficult. Modifying an existing EQ to add features is always difficult and often impossible unless you are prepared to add active buffer stages between them.

Hello Ian Thanks for the reply

@J.Frad This guy did a great job here.

I think it's impossible for me without your help  :-\

My fear is spending money and doing something that doesn't work

My idea is to make an 8 channel mixer to use with the Mytek for the mix

Do you know other designations of passive EQ with 3/4 bands and HPF and LPF?

Regards

Yes and no. Right now I m working on a five band mastering EQ inspired by NYD's EQ. The high boost/cut is shelving for boost but acts as a simple 6dB/octave LPF in cut. The low cut also acts as a crude HPF. However, unlike NYD's EQ it does not need to be fed into a 600 ohm load so you can add a HPF downstream quite easily. This EQ is currently under development and will not be ready for some time. The thread is here:

Hello,
My eq was a basic assembly of building blocks made possible by this community :)

I am not a designer and I don't know how the high pass was added.

The unit works'fine although the capi buffer isn't a 600ohm load, which I am planning to fix at some point.

I wouldn't try adding more bands without buffers as Ian said.

Keep us posted on your plans! I am curious to see what you decide to do :)

Hello ian,

I never had a schematic.
The filter board was made by someone from this board based on the original nyd eq.
He gave me a parts list to go with it.

I basically slapped things together knowîng it should work.

The rest is described in my thread, i can't really help more!
