Hi from a newbie. I came here looking for information about the "official" sanctioned usage of the 48 volt phantom supply on the API and similar lunchboxes. I'm sorry if this is info I could have found with a more thorough search, but I haven't been able to turn anything up.
I'm considering making myself a little module that uses the 48 volt supply for a non-phantom power application. It might pull about 15-20mA. Obviously that's a little higher than a phantom mic would use, but not so much that I'm remotely worried about doing something like that for my own use. But I am curious what API would say about it, or if a usage like that could be "VPR approved" or whatever or not. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
