51x 511 Rack extra DSUB IO

Hello, I'm considering building a 511 rack with the tascam boards. Everything in my studio is running on DB25 snakes to keep things clean, so I was considering just leaving the XLR jacks off the rack. What I wanted to know is has anyone used the extra available 5 channels on the db25 plugs for anything. They're there, not doing anything. You could make the XLR plugs available on the back, kind of like the API 500-6B racks that had 4 extra XLR s for the two channels of IO available on the DSUBs. This would make for clean connections for a couple pieces of rack gear nearby.  Or it could be possible to connect to extra IO on certain modules that have it i.e. M/S matrices or parallel blend modules. Thoughts? Experience?

Our 511 rack has SubD25 connections to all of the 11 slots.

Slot 1 to 8 inputs and outputs are on Sub 1 and 2 respectively.

9-11 inputs and outputs are on the 3rd sub.
