6 channels audio interface questions

Hello,

I’m in need of a synchronization solution for 6 microphones. I’m trying to retrieve their signal on a computer to process them afterwards.

For the moment I wanted to use a Scarlett 8i6 but there are a lot of features that I won’t use.
The Maya44 USB+ would’ve been perfect but the number of input channels is too low.

I found a device that I could use, the bela mini with expander, but after contacting the company, it isn’t made to be an audio interface.

Do you have any recommendations about this type of device ?

Or is it possible to build a simple 6 channels jack or XLR input audio synchronization interface and retrieve the 6 channels signals on a computer (with one output like cited interfaces or multiple as long as they are synchronized) ?
Being a novice in electrical circuits, and in audio hardware, I wanted to know how feasible it is and where do I need to start ?

I'd say your best solution would be to simply use the 8i6 or similar. Not using all the features isn't a problem and will get you up and running far more quickly than trying to put something together yourself.
