Good idea. Thanks for that.
Where did you find these little daughterboards (switchs & relays) ?
I made them. Or rather, drew them up and had them printed.

The switch board is my design and very simple, but it acts as a "hub" for all of the power and other wiring which cleaned the whole thing up and made wiring much easier.

The board with the relays is basically a JLM GoBetween. I'd used the JLM boards on a couple of builds but needed more on a deadline when they were not shipping due to covid, so I drew up my own, but of course take no credit for that circuit.

I've been thinking about drawing up a board that combines all 3 into one and mounts vertically so I can do a 3U 8 channel like Martin but with the extra functions/switches.

Hi,

Just started a 2ch EZ1290 build.

Can anyone recommend a good two position DPDT rotary switch with solder lugs and mountable on a frontpanel?

Thinking about adding a switch for Lo/Hi Z

i built a 1U two channel a few years ago. i love it.

recently i put one of these in a desktop style hammond case. such a fun build. popped in a Jensen JT-DB-EPC as a switchable DI input.

Hi everyone !

I just finished another ez1290 and I have a bad voltage on TR1 Emitter, I have ~360mV instead of 0,4 Volts.
BUT when I switch on the unit the voltage is good during 5 secondes.
Maybe a bad capacitor ?
Anyone have an idea for that ?
Thank's

The unit seems to work correctly when I measure the frequency response.
Today I have adjusted the bias and I had this curve.
Did anyone had the same ?

Hi,
I've adjusted the Bias in many Neve units and the curve was always round, never seen anything like that.
I think there's something wrong with you measuring setup or with your unit

Ha! I want to build this exact thing for a bass DI! Congrats on the sweet build. Any problem with having the PSU in the same box?

I recently completed a pair of these after many false starts and was wondering if anyone else found their EZ1290 hissy in the highest gain ranges? I don't expect dead silence from a vintage design at 70db gain but it's kind of a surprising amount of hiss. Just wondering if it's something I could improve or if it's the nature of the beast.

I don’t know the amount of hiss you have… All preamps, vintage or modern will have hiss on the highest gain settings.
Neve preamps have some hiss, I think it’s even called “Neve Haze”, but that was never a problem to me in many years of recording
