That tube/FET hybrid is interesting -- basically a feedback pair with two source followers in a row. But it must have some pretty serious stability problems, as it's dripping with little compensation caps.

MOSFET source followers in push-pull? Is that what's going on with that output stage? I have been getting curious (hybrid-curious :wink:) about MOSFETs in tube circuits.

The Mu Stage topology is more interesting to me. The idea of the two devices working to optimize each other is more appealing to me than separate stages. I've been thinking about converting the first stage of my 6EM7 pre to a Mu Stage.
