I see.

I see. U say the 220 and the 200 are similar. Is the sound the same?
Yes.
Can I buy any 680pf capacitor? there r so many variants (colors, shapes) they come in when I google it
NOT.
First have the microphone and test it. Depending on how it sounds on your voice, you modify it.
Maybe It sounds perfectly unmodified, stock.

If it's too bright:
🔽
You buy more capacitors to be able to adjust the tone of the microphone:
100 220 270 330 390 470 510 560 680 pF
All will cost a few euros.
We will tell you which type at the right time.
Is that good?
You're still thinking.

I have a Studio Projects C1 which has been modified with an upgrade kit from Micparts. https://microphone-parts.com/products/studio-projects-c1-circuit-upgrade-kit
What the upgrade allows you to do is dial in as much top end filtering/attenuation as you like so you can tune it to your voice via a trim pot.
I have mine set to a U87. Superb sounding mic.
You might be able to find to find a second hand Studio Projects C1. There has been a couple of versions of them.

sounds fun. But that would mean a lot of soldering if i try them all one by one. Also i might damage it if i solder so many times. I probablym just need one,. THe one that sounds the best.
I am going to buy the mic these days. And then let u know how it sounds (sibilant). And then we get a good capacitor for me, yes?

@Plonker
A Shoeps circuit, without a transformer, with such a body/headbasket will never be able to sound like a U87.
MicFarts makes money.

Do not do many solders, repeated, in the microphone.
Solder 2 temporary wires, which you take out of the microphone. You assemble the microphone otherwise you have an infernal hum and it cannot be tested, outside on wires solder different capacitors, and test in real conditions the perfect sound for you. After you have determined the right capacitor, solder it definitively into the microphone and start doing voice acting.🍻

Sure its not, but its not going to cost him $4000 either.
He is looking for a good sounding mic that suits his voice which doesn't cost a lot.
The C1 is a nice sounding mic and the mod allows him to dial in as much de-emphasis as he wants.
Yes mic parts mods are way to expensive but they work well.

@plautus

In the pictures you can see how I proceeded to adjust the tone to taste, externally.
You can put several capacitors in parallel, gradually, to find the best sound. That's why we need more capacitor values. Here I had a character between vintage U87i and U67, very warm, velvety.

I suggested a better alternative, 70 euros in total.

it lookis like they r ov erlapping each other. How can this work....

It's how some things work in electronics. If you don't know any better, maybe don't question it, and consider taking kind advice at face value, sometimes? 😉

https://sound-au.com/beginners.htm - section 4.2 is particularly relevant to your question, but the entire article is worth a read. Well, assuming you want to actually learn anything...

if they r all connected how do u switch btw them?
You change them patiently. It is very necessary in electronics.
Solder them one on top of the other, gradually, in parallel, and their value is added up arithmetically.
Ctotal=C1+C2+...+Cn
As the total equivalent value of the capacitors increases, the highs are attenuated more.

I have many Rode microphones, I consider them very good.
I have 4 as Plautus's NT1 Black.
I modified one and it sounds better than SP C1 with MP mode. But since he has no experience in electronics, I can't help him to mod his.🤷
I have many Studio Projects B1/C1/CS1 and Behringer B1/2/pro which are similar, all produced by 797, very good for the money. All are fashioned for different uses

I don't understand why you need a Mod Kit from MP.

❗Any microphone can be modded❗

Why so many mics. Do you run a studio?

I tried changing the capsule once in my Rode. After that the sound was barely hearable and htere was striogn statics,. It was broiken basically. I sent it to Rode they send me a new one luckily. I'm still gratefu to this day.It was a capsule from a factoryu in China. Neumanss capsule K something. FOrgot
If i rweally have to mess with the caspule again I'd better do that with a cheap used mic
