A quick API 325 question

Hi all.
I have a couple api 325 cards I want to use for a stereo buss. I want to acheive 10 db of gain using two taps of the output transformer Question is should the term At/Ao be calculated first and 1 be subtracted as basic math operations or should Ao -1 be preformed first and API forgot a parenthesis.

At/Ao first then minus the 1.
Otherwise, with one output winding, you’ll end up with a negative number,

Many thanks Walrus. Makes sense now. They did follow PEMDAS. With old type writers it was harder to write equations in print.
