Active Bass Electronics

i have a handbuild LAG (French brand) Bass. Originally there were Bartolinis (active) in there. The previous owner had a 9v battery fear and asked me to make it passive. I bought it back from him later and have to say it sounded way better in the days when it was active. Don't have the active circuits anymore unfortunately and would love to put them back one day. Can anyone point me to a good Bartolini compatible circuit? Would love to try to revitalise them... even at the cost of a little his :grin:

Im not too fond of Bartolinis. I played a warwick with bartolinis at some point. Never could get any kind of "organic?" tone out of it. too shiny can be too boring.

I already ordered fenders own p-bass stock pickups for the precision btw.
