Adapt-A-Cap Can Capacitor Replacement

I just saw this on XRayTonyB's youtube channel and thought it was cool. If and when you want to replace a multi-section can capacitor, but you don't want to spend the money with Hayseed Hamfest or whoever, get some of these. Pretty cool idea.

That is a neat idea , specially made multisection caps tend to be pricey, of unknown quality and often not the exact values required in a particular application.

Cool, now he needs them covering all the different sizes. 

I frequently do this with those little Radio shack perf board squares, they fit nicely with only one hole to drill in the perf:

Another guy I follow on Youtube, D-Lab Electronics, makes his own "can caps" by assembling caps onto an Octal tube socket.

Yeah, and there are also the octal socket version of plug-in caps on a lot of old pro gear already, so an obvious choice if there's space to do it.
