I'm thinking of adding a USB to a separate box the would have a pair of Peerless 600:600 transformers.  I'd like to be able to hook up my analog tube mic pre amps which all have a a 600 ohm output option to a computer's USP port.

Is there a schematic that covers this, or even better is there a commercial product that would allow this.  I'm thinking Akai EIE but I'm afraid I'd over load the  mic preamps.

your looking to hook up your tube pres into the computer. plenty of audio interface options that have line inputs and are usb. I would highly doubt overload on an interface  with balanced line level  inputs.

A tube preamp with a 600 Ohm output surely already has a transformer output?

So run that floating winding into an unbalanced audio input on the PC or a separate ADC box.
