3.6 mm edge connector sounds like the thing. I like the idea of tacking wires behnd the fingers. Only an animal would solder to the fingers direct!

I recently acquired a few of these units, but I haven't heard them yet. Can't wait!

These Allison Gain Brains are commonly referred to as "noisy" when I read about them. Would there be any "modern" component substitutions we could make to lower the noise? Better transistors, precision resistors? Besides recapping, I'm not sure what could be done.
