As an Olde Phart, I really like rock songs with horn sections that I recall from my youth. But cover versions seldom turn out well. I ran across these folks in the last few days and they kick a$$!









There are a bunch more...I just linked a few above. As far as I can tell, it's all a "bunch of folks all playing along together in the room" with awesome performances and recordings. I'll continue drilling down into their songs.

I have always thought you cannot beat the vibe you get with musos playing together in the same room. You can really feel the energy and joy as they play in those videos. That and 8 tracks is all you need.

I'm shocked folks actually work together in a room.
Nashville still does. Black bird studios uses ensemble groups everyday. That also kind of means anything goes these days as country music also. Pink and Keith Urban sounds more like programmed music but 1000 studios in Nashville give me hope for live performed music.
