Hello All!
I've just finished my first project (the BLOO LA-2A - wonderful kit!) and I'm now trying to get the parts together to "attempt" the SSL clone. Being very much a newbie, I'll probably ask many stupid questions in the next few weeks, but here's my first:
I have here a pretty cool-looking NOS Simpson decibel meter ("model 146 Navy Type 22427"), and, despite its distinctly non-ssl appearance, I'm trying to figure out if I can use it for the SSL. It says "rectifier type Zero power level 6 milliwatts 600 ohms" on it. If not useable in the SSL clone, is it useful for anything (besides some kind of FunkLogic panel clone:)?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Hi Streber,

Welcome to The Lab.

For the SSL-clone, you'll need a linear-scale meter with a sensitivity of some 1mA. I don't think the one you mention will do any good in that circuit.

Read the SSL-Clone Meta for similar questions - and answers to those:
