Anyone see a potentiometer like this

Service docs say it’s a 22k lin pot.
Is the center pin at the back just for mechanical bracing? I took measurements and I get high in the mohm when I measure with my DMM

It's fairly easy to take cheap pots apart. If it's already bad, not much concern about getting it back together perfectly.

Has dead spots. I am just wondering if the center pin on the back is for anything other then mechanical bracing?

the photo of the lug appears out of focus.... if it's just support it might be part of the rear case, I can't tell from the image.
